Να ‘μαστε πάλι εδώ, με τους ξεχασμένους ήρωες. Καθισμένοι στη “ρωγμή του χρόνου” να προσπαθούμε να μην ξευτελίσουμε τη ζωή μας (αφού δεν μπορέσαμε να τη σώσουμε), να μη βαφτίζουμε τους ρύπους και τα περιτρίμματα της Ιστορίας ως “άνθη του πολιτισμού”, να μη μεμψιμοιρούμε για τη σχολική εκπαίδευση μας, που ήταν, είναι και θα είναι ανεπαρκής. Δυστυχώς, στα σκονισμένα υπόγεια της Λήθης συνωστίζονται, ακόμα, σημαντικές και χρήσιμες προσωπικότητες, ικανές να συνταράξουν τη λογική και το συναίσθημα.

Μία από αυτές είναι η Θρακιώτισσα καπετάνισσα, η Δόμνα Βισβίζη (1783 -1850). Η Δομνίτσα, η Κυρά των Θαλασσών, η αρχικαπετάνισσα του “Καλομοίρα”, ο φόβος και ο τρόμος των Τούρκων “εις την Εύριπον μάχην”.

Την ώρα της μάχης, έδωσε όλα τα υπάρχοντα της για να θρέψει το πλήρωμα, τους Θρακιώτες ήρωες του “Καλομοίρα”, δεν έκλαψε το σύζυγο και καπετάνιο Αντώνη Βιζβίζη, δε νοιάστηκε για τα πέντε ορφανά παιδιά της, ήταν εκεί στο προσκλητήριο, στο “υπέρ πάντων η πατρίς”, η Όμορφη, η Δυνατή, η Αρχικαπετάνα, για να ελέγχει τα περάσματα στην Εύβοια και τις Σποράδες, για να σώσει τον Ανδρούτσο και τον Νικηταρά, για να στήσει την πολυπόθητη ελεύθερη πατρίδα

Δεν ήταν από τους ανθρώπους που τα μέτραγε ή υπολόγιζε κινδύνους και οφέλη. Ήταν από τους ανθρώπους που έδινε…

Στον καιρό της ειρήνης, η Θρακιώτισσα Δόμνα Βισβίζη θα μεγαλώσει με αυταπάρνηση και τα πέντε παιδιά της, σχεδόν ζητιανεύοντας και ενοχλώντας τους περισπούδαστους γραφειοκράτες και τεχνοκράτες του μίζερου νεοσύστατου κράτους. Θα σταθεί επί ώρες στις ουρές, θα περιφέρεται από τρώγλη σε τρώγλη, θα γίνει ο περίγελως των “λογικών” και των “νοικοκυραίων”

Η Θρακιώτισσα Δόμνα θα πεθάνει στον Πειραιά μακριά από τη γενέτειρα της, την Αίνο, με τη βεβαιότητα ότι στη ζωή της έπραξε το σωστό και μόνο το σωστό.

Η Δόμνα, η Λασκαρίνα, η Μαντώ και άλλες κοίταξαν με αγάπη το κοπάδι και αγνόησαν το πέρασμα του. Μπήκαν δικαιωματικά στη ζωή των Ελλήνων εις τους αιώνας των αιώνων
